Beyond her, a high concrete wall encloses a courtyard where random figures move in the light — more tourists, most likely — their heads touched by sunlight against a wall of towering dark green cypress trees. At the bottom of the steep stairs, a little red car is parked on the street below. Across the street, greenery gives way to ancient stone buildings tightly woven together.
